A leading basketball player at the University of Southern California (USC) during the mid-1960s, John Block was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1966. After playing mostly off the bench as a rookie he was drafted by the new expansion team - San Diego Rockets in 1967-68. He helped the Rockets reach the playoffs ithe next season, 1968-69 and averaged 12.4 points per game in 5 playoff games.
A highly rated 6th man and top rebounder, 3,965 total rebounds in 597 regular season games, John Block was also a very fine shooter, .433 pct. |
