A junior college transfer to Indiana University, Dean Garrett anchored the center position for coach Bobby Knight’s 1987 NCAA Champion Indiana Hoosiers. Drafted by Phoenix in the second round of the 1988 NBA draft.
After playing in pro leagues around the world, Dean Garrett joined the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA eight years later. In his first NBA season he scored a career-high 8.0 points per game, on 223 field goals in 389 attempts, and 96 FT in 138 attempts. Dean Garrett helped Minnesota make the playoffs four times in his five seasons with the team. |
