University of Tennessee during the 1980s to maximize their

skills and enjoy the camaraderie of team sports.

Player Bios

 

Regina Clark, Guard 5 ft 8 inches Tennessee Women’s

Basketball 1988-1992. Regina Clark graduated from Buena

Vista High School in Saginaw Michigan in 1988. Won honors

with ESPY Award Co-Team of the Decade and voted Academic

All Southeastern Conference (SEC) for 1991 and 1992. A solid

Team player and a first class dribbler, Regina Clark excelled on

and off the court with her pleasant demeanor. Played in 109

college games and had a 3.6 points per game average.

 

Kris Durham, Guard 5 ft 8 inches Tennessee Lady Vols

1987-1989. Graduated from Union Catholic High School

in Dunellen New Jersey in 1987. A hustling, fine ball

handling offensive guard, Kris Durham was also highly rated

defensively. She played on the 1987-1988 Lady Vols team

which finished first in the Associated Press (AP) Poll under

head coach Pat Summitt. Kris Durham averaged 5.9 points

per game in 36 games.

 

Paula Towns, Forward 6 ft 1 inch Tennessee Women’s

Basketball Player. Graduated Peach County High School in

Fort Valley. Georgia. Paula was highly regarded for her

accurate shooting and was one of the Southeastern Conference

best rebounders. Played in 117 games with the Lady Vols,

had a 6.5 rebounds per game average, and a nice 9.5 points

per game average.

The 1976-77 team hit on all cylinders and improved to a

remarkable 28-5 record, finishing third in AIAW. The

previous season, the Lady Vols had a 16-11 record. So,

winning 12 more games in 1976-77 was pure delight for

fans of Tennessee women’s basketball.

 

6 ft 1 inch Patricia Roberts, a forward/center, had a standout

season and started propelling her teammates to play winning

basketball. Pat Roberts was a first team Kodak All American

pick for the 1976-77 season. A transfer student from Monroe

Georgia, Patricia Roberts played just one season with Tennessee

and put up amazing stats indeed. She scored on average 29.9

points per game and hauled down 14.2 rebounds per game in

33 games.

 

Sue Thomas, a 5 ft 8 inch forward, deserves a special mention,

she had a stellar season in 1976-77. Sue Thomas college stats

include scoring 11.3 points per game, with 6.1 rebounds per

game. Hometown of Maryville TN.
