After playing a major role in the Guandong Tigers three consecutive Chinese Baseball Association Championships, Yi Jianlian is gaining confidence as a rookie for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association. As of November 30, 2007 the 7-ft Yi is averaging close to 10 points per game including 8 points and two rebounds in less than 30 minutes of playing time in last night Bucks loss to the New York Knicks.
Yi was drafted in the first round, sixth overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.
'When you draft a rookie,' said Larry Krystkowiak, Milwaukee's coach, 'you never know exactly how that person is going to respond when they come into the NBA. I think it's safe to say he's one of those people who has surprised some people, opened some eyes.'
